ACTRESS JODI STA. MARIA-LACSON TALKS ABOUT LUCKY CHARMS

(Excerpt from her Starstudio magazine interview. July, 2008 issue)

At the time of this interview, Pampi and Jodi have been living in the house for a month. The date they moved in was chosen with the help of Feng Shui expert Joy Lim. Joy asked for Pampi's birthdate (May 29, 1980) and Jodi's (June 16, 1982) and based on those information, she chose the most auspicious date for them to move in. Joy also suggested that the couple place Feng Shui charms throughout the house, which they did. "Wala namang mawawala di ba?" says Jodi. The Feng Shui charms seems to have brought them luck. Since they moved in to they house, Jodi's career has been on an upswing.

Jodi's Career

She has done several series, all of which did well in the ratings and which also went over well with the critics: Walang Kapalit (in which she played the manic-depressive wife of Bobby Andrews), Patayin sa Sindak sa Barbara (as the ghost Ruth) and Palos and Kung-Fu kids (which she did simultaneously). She also appeared in the indie film Maling Akala opposite Victor Basa. All her performances were well-received, and there is talk that she is about to start yet another project in which she will play Nash Aguas' mother. She is very excited about this latest acting assignment. "Sa mga dati kong shows kasi, namamatay agad ang character ko. Parang na-ta-

typecast yata ako sa mga nanay na nastu-stugi,"she says with a laugh. " Pero dito, ang dinig ko, mas mahaba ang exposure," says Jodi. She cuts herselfoff for fear of revealing more about the project before it's officially announced.

Director Eric Salud

Director Eric Salud has always been superstitious, a believer of the unknown. "Even before, mahilig na ako magbasa ng pamahiin ( Even before, I always read books on superstitions)," says Salud."Mapaniwala talaga ako (I easily believe things)."

So it does not come as a surprise that this famous director of various television series like Pangarap Na Bituin, Hiram Na

Mukha, Pedro Penduko, Margarita, and About Your Love, easily fell for the "Charms and Crystals" of the equally famous geomancer Ms. Joy Lim. Salud met Ms. Joy in 2005 through the recomendation of his friend, actress Mel Kimura. At that time, Salud was doing pretty "OK" when it comes to his career and personal life.

After meeting Ms. Joy however, Salud admits his life has never been better. "Before kasi, noong wala pa si Ms. Joy, parang walang direksyon ang lahat. Hindi mo alam kung tama ang nilalagay mo [sa bahay mo], kung tama ang suot mong mga charms (Before Ms.Joy, it was as if not everything was in the right direction)," recalls Salud. "But after meeting Ms.Joy, my beliefs became stronger-my projects and shows kept coming in. That's why I wear my charms everyday, I feel lost and incomplete without them. Through Ms. Joy, I learned everything has to be placed in the right direction so that blessings will continue pouring in".

For example, when Eric Salud bought his new house somewhere in Fairview, it never occured to him that the number of the house, 64, was inauspicious, Coincidentally, that was also the plate number of his car.

"Ms. Joy told me that the number 4 is unlucky in feng shui. So she adviced me to place a gold medallion beside the number of the house and the plate number of the car. So far, I have not experienced any misfortunes. My car would get small bumps but nothing major since"

Salud reinforced the protection of his home by placing auspious feng shui items at the right corners and directions of the house. To ward off burglars, he placed a rhinoceros facing the North West direction. At the South West, he placed a Red Buddha, Piyao, and a miniature Christmas Tree for the continious flow of blessings. He kept a Deer decoration at the living room as it symbolizes strength and wealth. The 3-Coins are placed at the doorbell to attract more money. Salud has mini-fountain at stratigic spots of the house, tortoise facing South East, at the kitchen, Six strings coin chimes and a green swallowing a coin, as well. "I could say Ms.Joy has tremendously helped in improving my luck. But as Ms.Joy says, you have to remember to keep a positive attitude towards people, towards life".

Shiela Go

Born to chinese parents, 26-year-old Shiela Go grew up believing in feng shui. She is also a self-confessed fan of astrology and anything supernatural. Despite her beliefs, Go could not understand why luck eludes her. "Salamat kay MS. Marivic and Ms Joy Lim dahil nagkaroon ng Charms and Crystals dito sa Japan."

"Dati life was just ordinary, routinary," says GO "Parang ambigat sa loob." Go heard about Ms Joy Lim but it was only through her balikbayan sister that she found the opportunity to finally meet Ms. Joy.

"The first time I saw her, I felt like I could really talk to her," remembers Go, " I knew that she was the type that caters the adults to the young."

After consulting with Ms.Joy, Go got an All-in-One bracelet, a 21 eye DZi Gem with Ruby Crystals bracelet or wishing bracelet, and a garlic with clear quartz bracelet - all given for free by Ms Joy." After I got my bracelets, lots of my wishes came true. Some were almost impossible but came true nevertheless. I also felt as if burdens has been lifted off me". "I work as clients' service supervisor at Powermac Center. My work involves informing our VIP clients about new products at the store. I remember, before wearing the bracelets, it usually takes me days before I get to sell products to clients. Now, almost everyday I get to sell even the most expensive ones," says Go. As such, Go has been recommending Ms. Joy to her clients as well. she has even put up her own website where clients can browse and order through Ms Joy's charms and crystals. Since then, the phone never stopped ringing. "My clients would call me up just to tell me how the bracelets changed their lives." But more than granting her wishes, according to Go, the bracelets made her more confident about herself. "They made me believe that the most improbable things can happen. They changed how I see things and how I deal with people. I opened up to my family and friends more. The bracelets really changed my life."

Nelia Gutierrez

Almost seven years ago, Nelia Gutierrez, 55, thought she was going to lose her only small store at the Malabon Central Market. "Kapos na kapos kami noon (we were falling short of money before)," recalls Gutierrez, "Panay ang labas ng pera". Kahit kumikita, madami pa din ang ginagastos. Kahit short na P50 hindi ko mabili. Akala ko masasara na rin ang tindahan ko (We were spending more than we were earning. I couldn't even buy a P50 worth of shortpants)."

One day, while watching Alas Sinco Y Medya, the defunct ABS-CBN morning show,

"There were so many of them but Ms. Joy caught my attention. As if someone was whispering to me that I should go to Ms. Joy". Following her instinct, Aling Nelia dragged along her Tita and went to see Ms. Joy. Aling Nelia did not hesitate in telling Ms.Joy about her financial problems. She went as far as showing Ms.Joy the layout of her house Ms.Joy advised her to wear an All-in-One bracelet and smoke incence candles all over the house. Ms.Joy suggested having a prosperity basket during the New Year, as well."After consulting with Ms.Joy, parang gumaan ang pakiramdam ko. Gumanda ang benta ng tindahan na akala ko masasara na. Nabili pa namin ang kabilang lupa ng tindahan sa mas murang halaga (After consulting with Ms Joy, I felt lighter. Our sales picked up when I thought our store would shut down. I was also able to buy the neighboring lot at a very cheap price).

Since then, Aling Nelia has been filling her house with Feng Shui items bought from Ms.Joy's Charms and Crystals store. She placed a money tree at the North West direction of the house, a Jambala at the South East direction, Holy Gourd at the door, Chilin at the North direction, and Kwan Khong at the North West to name a few.To date, Aling Nelia can no longer account how much she had spent on collecting Ms Joys charms and crystals. But according to her, she doesn't regret a single centavo. "Hindi ako nanghihinayang sa gastos kasi yung dumating na blessings mas higit pa. Saka yung iba bigay naman ni Ms. Joy.( I do not regret how much I have spent already beacause the returns more than compensate)."

Aling Nelia has since been encouraging her three children to apply feng shui into their lives. Her 25-year-old daughter-in-law, Kaye David , is the newest recruit of Aling Nelia. "Si Ms Joy ang nagturo sakin kung paano ang gagawin. Pero siyempre, dapat sabayan mo rin ng panalangin at paniniwala (Ms Joy taught me how to do things [in feng shui]. But of course, you also have to pray and believe that things will happen)," finishes Aling Nelia.

I became aware of Charms and Crystals bracelets because of endorsements from celebrities like Kris Aquino, Korina Sanchez and Cheryl Cosim. Initially, the bracelets interested me because of their attractive and unique designs. My initial purchase from Charms and Crystals was an "all-in-one bracelet." I acquired it at a time when I was setting up my private practice in my chosen field of specialization as a medical doctor. A few months prior, I had invested and lost a large amount of cash in a clinic which did not do as well as I had expected. I was eventually forced to pull out of that clinic because the return of investment was very dismal. My aim in acquiring the bracelet was to open more opportunities for myself and to help my practice to improve. Soon after, I received an offer to practice in a well-established clinic in a very good location. I was chosen among many applicants for the said position. I was also tapped by a friend to be a medical consultant for a TV show. Furthermore, my medical practice dramatically improved. In addition, I was also able to pass an important examination that I took last year.

I saw my niece wearing her Charms and Crystal power beads and since I'm passionate with crystals, I asked her where she bought those pretty-colored crystals. She told me that they were sold by Joy Lim which she enhanced though 'Feng Shui'. I laughed it off. I was only interested in the beautiful crystals, and I had different beliefs.

My niece introduced me to Jam Fajardo of Charms And Crystals, Jam explained all about the C & C.
