Second Immortal - Chang Kuo Lao, depicted sitting on a magical horse and carrying a bamboo tube. He is the symbol of wisdom. He bestows wisdom on the family patriarch and blesses childless couple in order for them to conceive.
Third Immortal - Lu Dong Pin, depicted sitting on a tiger and carrying a magical sword to slay demons and evil spirits and slice through bad energies caused by bad "chi". He also holds a fly whisk to cure illnesses. He symbolizes scholastic luck and protection.
Fourth Immortal - Ts'ao Guao- Chiu, the finest dressed of the eight immortals, is shown sitting on a horse and holding a pair of castanets to symbolize his noble birth. He signifies fame and recognition and bestows scholastic luck, recognition and high ranking authority to the patriarch in the family
Fifth Immortal - Tie Guai Li (from crutch Li) depicted as a beggar with an iron staff and sitting on a fu dog - believed to be the most powerful of the eight, he blesses those who need money and cures hard to cure illnesses. He also bestows wisdom.
Sixth Immortal - Han Hsiang Tzu, depicted sitting on a bull or ox and carrying a flute to attract good chi and bring healing energy. He is the patron of musicians.
Seventh Immortal - Lan Tsai Ho, depicted sitting on an elephant and carrying a flower basket. She brings luck to young women and blesses everyone with longevity. She also brings happiness and beautiful people in one's life.
Eight Immortal - He Hsien Ku, the immortal maiden, depicted sitting on a deer(symbol of longevity and good fortune) and carrying a magical lotus blossom and a fly whisk. She bestow love, family, relationship and marriage luck for the whole family. The 8 immortals are shown on top of the mountain, which symbolizes stability and is good for business.
